About Hotel Edelweiss, Geneva

Alps-style retreat in the center of Geneva

Swiss chalet in the city

You can experience a slice of the Alps in downtown Geneva at this authentic Swiss chalet, a few minutes' walk to both Lake Geneva and the UN. The Geneva train station is 850 meters away, and hotel guests get a free public transport card.

Walk to the lakefront

The lakefront is 3 blocks away, and outdoor adventures, from parasailing to hiking and biking, are all around the area. Families with young kids can take advantage of a playground near the hotel.

Fondues and folk music

Fashioned from wooden beams and mountain stone, Hotel Edelweiss offers you an unusually rustic experience in the capital city. Restaurant Edelweiss maintains the traditional theme with live folk music and Swiss specialties, including fondue.

In-room chocolate

The hotel's 42 chalet-style guestrooms feature free WiFi and interactive TVs as well as traditional pine furniture. A nice touch is the free Swiss chocolate to go along with a cup of coffee or tea; for more substantial fare, there's a minibar and 24-hour room service.

Hotel Edelweiss, Geneva
Beware of Edelweiss
If you are looking for a rustic style hotel, find a regular hotel with air conditioning. Not an experience I want to repeat. Where do I start: - No help in getting luggage to the room - No air conditioner. They said it was turned off for the winter but they had an unusually warm autumn weather. Had to open windows at night and there was construction going on outside so that disturbed sleep. - We barely got any amenities. We ran out of toilet paper. They only replenished our hand soap once in a 4 day stay (3 ladies in one room). - The tea cups weren't washed when the room was cleaned - The restaurant food was not that great. - Terrible terrible pillows. We only got one each and it wasn't good. - The hotel smelled like cheese all the time - The sofa bed wasn't comfortable.
