Sad - not very good, might work for a day or two
Poor service - Breakfast bar stocked well but has had same items for 15 years or more...some friendly staffers, some not so. The Gym had broken and decrepit equipment - very poor condition Caters to short stay and wedding parties mostly - a week felt far too long to stay at this hotel - likely I won't return

Overall, very satisfied
Stayed at this hotel for 6 nights this month while visiting with family in the area. Upon arrival, my wife and I were a little concerned with how small the room was. However after seeing 2 other rooms, we realized ours was one of the larger ones, for a standard room. The rooms are well appointed with the standard items, hair dryer, coffee maker, TV, phone, etc. The biggest thing we check for is cleanliness when staying in hotels. I have no complaints on this count at all. The room was well maintained throughout our stay. The bathroom in our room appears to be recently renovated, was very nice done and again spotlessly clean. We dined away from the hotel each day so I cannot comment on this, however my limited dealings with the various staff members on reception were all very positive and I found everybody to be very helpful. The hotel is located close to a major shopping complex, a minute drive from the motorway, yet also only a few minutes away from the piece and quiet of the countryside. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay at the Georgian House.

The stay was ruined by a power cut

Good value but not a typical Mercure
I stayed here for a night on business. The hotel was in a convenient location and had a decent sized carpark, although it was unnerving to see broken glass from someone's car window scattered over the floor! My room was ok, probably very nice 10 years ago but like the rest of the hotel it was well worn. However it was a good size with plenty of space to work and decent wifi. It was also nice to have a proper radiator rather than noisy warm air heating. Room service dinner was good but breakfast was very limited. All the staff seemed pleasant and helpful. Gym was better than usual for a hotel.

This was our Wedding Venue 15 years ago and it has not changed one bit! not to bad considering. the staff were amongst the friendliest i have encountered in many hotels across the globe . the food in the restaurant had a good selection , however our chicken was sent back and we didnt pay for it as it was very over cooked - but they handled it well . I did not request a wake up call, we did not need it as at 7.45 the couple in room 771 were usy getting on with the morning glory & yes she was a moaner - didn't last long though which was a shame for her!! Over all a very pleasant night away for the wife and I
