Good enough, if you don't look too close.
Day staff are very nice in this seemingly 1960's hotel that has not been thoroughly updated. Night staff not always present / don't always answer the phone. Rooms are OK, not quite clean e.g. calking over mold in bathtub tile grout and water damage in under sink vanity. I wouldn't touch things too much in the room. But all in all a comfortable room. Internet worked in some parts of the hotel, not in others. Top rooms have a great view of the sea. Food pretty good. The hotel I stayed in after leaving this one (Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport) was just as run down. Maybe this is just the norm for Scotland? I'm not experienced enough in Scotland travel to know for sure. Anyway, it didn't ruin my stay because staff were nice.

Tiny rooms. Double bed, but this was pushed up against the wall and there not even enough room for a bedside cabinet. the other side, only a 3 ft space between bed and wall. Archaic TV system means having to go through about 4 menus just to get normal TV. Hotel as a whole looking tired and dated. Breakfast looked as though it had been on show for days and most of it was cold. Bread was thinly sliced. Feels as though they are cutting lots of corners. It wouldn't be my 1st choice to use again

Good location but very run down
Door when opening would sometimes not work as door handle was loose. When adjusting shower head , it almost fell off the wall, some tile grout under the soap holder looked like it was covered in blood ,Carpet was worn could see through it. Bathroom was dirty and generally the rooms were extremely in down. Have stayed in many mercure hotels and this would be the worst one I believe. Disappointed for an Le Accor member
