Good 6.0
Good enough, if you don't look too close.
Day staff are very nice in this seemingly 1960's hotel that has not been thoroughly updated. Night staff not always present / don't always answer the phone. Rooms are OK, not quite clean e.g. calking over mold in bathtub tile grout and water damage in under sink vanity. I wouldn't touch things too much in the room. But all in all a comfortable room. Internet worked in some parts of the hotel, not in others. Top rooms have a great view of the sea. Food pretty good. The hotel I stayed in after leaving this one (Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport) was just as run down. Maybe this is just the norm for Scotland? I'm not experienced enough in Scotland travel to know for sure. Anyway, it didn't ruin my stay because staff were nice.

Good 6.0
The hotel felt quite dated and had a stale smell of smoke in the lobby and bar area. Staff were nice and helpful. Rooms were ok and comfortable but the overall impression is that I would chose an alternative hotel.

Exceptional 10.0
I had a great time at the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and I will gladly be going back to the hotel

Fair 4.0
Great expectations. Poor results.
Room rather dated and tired. No toilet rolls and on request 1 delivered but had to be supplied from public area toilets as a delivery had not yet arrived. Only 1 hand towel in bathroom ? if that is "normal" 5 minutes later 2 bath towels were delivered by a very nice member of staff.Public areas are modern and comfortable with obvious recent upgrading. Breakfast choices very limited and some quality issues eg.. sausages. Eggs overcooked both mornings. DISAPPOINTED that our stay was substantially more expensive than a "Wowcher" deal on the go for this establishment.Think that could have negotiated a much better deal for customers.I enjoyed the town and surrounding area but would check out alternative accommodation in future.

Poor 2.0
Needs attention lacking in all areas !
I have stayed here before and had a lovely room overlooking the front and could see the sea in the distance. Not sure how i managed to get this room but shuld never have been let out to anyone. it was right near the lift shaft. i would advise to check as all night i hear the lift moving up and down and people chatting. Not a pleasent stay also the room was tired, marks on the wall, old furniture and carpet thread bare. Food was okay in the restaurant and breakfast buffet not alot of choice for a Accors style hotel chain. Everything looked to come out of a pcaket not fresh. Car parking £3 per night. The staff are fake and give a half hearted smile. Moral seemed to be low. Receptionist was far too noisy for my liking and unwelcoming. I would not stay again
