WARNING - Right across from a very noisy night club. Very old building. Drunks outside the night club talk very loud using profanities. Hotel staff refused to help. The operations manager told me that the local police would not hep either because it is a commercial area. No sound barrier provided by windows. The noise of roudy people, and from the delivery trucks that stop right in front all night with their engine on, sounds as if there are no windows in the openings. The worst ever experience of spending the entire night awake just before a cruise. Yes it is right in the middle of downtown, good during the day but evening and late night is a different story. Stay away if you are looking to get some rest in the night. I made the mistake of not checking the reviews before booking. Now when I checked, the net is full of reviews about the same two problems, noise, very old building very poorly maintained, and most importantly the management does not care. When I complained in the middle of the night I was told that it was my fault that I did not check google that would have clearly shown the night club across the street, and that yes there would be lot of noise from the drunk people congregating outside the hotel since this is a commercial area. Also, I was told by the operations manager that they will delete my posting from their website. I hope future prospective clients can get to this and hundreds of other posts about this hotel before making their decisions.

Hotel was run down and dirty. Room to small. Had to pay for an upgrade when we got there as room was unacceptable

Convenient but that's it.
This hotel is very convenient, being right in the middle of Old Town. However, it is "creaky" old and most rooms are in need of a serious upgrade. The bare essentials are present, but they are old. Originally, I booked a double, but with our 6 pieces of luggage, it was simply too small. I mean really small. Fortunately for only $30/night, I was able to upgrade to a suite, which was gigantic.

The hotel is small and old without any updated maintenance.

Don't go in the Summar
This hotel desperately needs some air-conditioning. My room was musty and hot, and the bed had only a thick duvet. It was just too hot to sleep. I opened the window one evening, but there are no screens over the windows and a pigeon flew in. Yes, it really happened. Quite a surprise on getting back from dinner. Yes, the staff were friendly. Yes the food was good. Yes, it's handy to be right on the high street. But none of that really matters if you can't sleep.
