Yes I would stay again
Area: fabulous for easy transportation, restaurants, shops. North and east of Piazza is shady. Front desk easy and willing to help Room large, bright but no clothes pole nor heating controls . I believe the new renovation was not totally complete. Everything very new and clean. Barista in breakfast room made a perfect coffee/ cappuccino to my specifications for purchase. Very good croissants. The service was very good. The included breakfast is not worth the calories. Instant coffee and instant milk in a machine, tang for juice, some ham and cheese, box cereals, tasteless cakes. So I bought a coffee and ate a croissant. Yes I would stay again. I suggest the front desk invests in a luggage scale

Buyer beware
Buyer beware! I made the reservation the day before and prepaid. When I arrived, they didn’t have my reservation. I called Hotels.com who then called them and was transferred to their manager. I could overhear the conversation as I was in the lobby during the call. The manager said the only room they had available was 235 euros/night when I prepaid a room for $124. During this time, the other female staff were clearly talking about me with unflattering behavior (eye rolls, snickers, etc.). I was on a 25-day solo trip who had come from an early morning ‘Papal Audience’ in Rome on a hot September day. The manager called me over and told me they couldn’t (would not) honor my reservation and wanted to move me to another hotel. I asked if the hotel was similar in star rating and accommodations. Her response was, ‘I don’t know this hotel’. At this time Hotels.com called me back with the same information. I asked my Hotels.com representative what kind of hotel ratings were listed for Hotel La Pace, Naples. Her voice was unsure, but told me it was a 3-star hotel with a comp. breakfast. As I was in a tight situation, I had a taxi take me to the hotel. Long story short – it was NOT a nice or safe feeling hotel who only spoke Italian. I am very disappointed in the service I received at Hotel Vergilius-Billia as I wasn't even offered the option to take the high priced room or selection of hotel switch…buyer beware!

Good hotel close to Napoli Central train station
Pretty good hotel close to Napoli Central train station on quiet street (opposite side of Piazza Garibaldi didn't look so quiet and safe). WiFi connection was better compare to other hotels we stayed in Italy. Room was comfortable and breakfast good. One concern regarding left luggage after checkout - it looked a bit unsafe because left luggage was not mark so theoretically anyone can come and take it.

Clean, quite and central location
Walking distance from Centrale & Garibaldi Station and eating. Quite room close to a high traffic area. Free breakfast starts at 7:00am. Room was super clean! Good bang for your buck.
