no frills but comfortable
Great place to stay if your outdoorsy. Temp outside was in the 50s. Rustic cabins reminds me of the motor courts of old. Cabin has microwave, tv, ref, and plenty of hot water for a hot shower to warm up after a cold day of activities. Cabin had plenty of heat to stay warm also. Coffee and fresh muffins available in the morning in the office. Good location, close to acadia park, bar harbor, northeast and southwest harbor, and Elsworth. Friendly staff to help you with directions and places to eat. Would stay again.

Uncomfortable But Clean
This was a decent place that was almost what it claimed to be. We didn't expect anything fancy since we planned to spend most of our stay enjoying time outside. Our family had a couple of problems, though. The beds were, without exaggeration, the loudest, most uncomfortable things we have ever slept on. We all tossed and turned and when we did, the bed creaked so loudly that it woke the other person in the bed up. The other issue is that while there were two rooms and a bathroom as advertised, the way the rooms were positioned was inconvenient. The two rooms were connected by the bathroom with no way except the bathroom to go from one room to another inside the cottage. If someone was in the restroom, everyone else was trapped in their room. In addition, while you could lock the door to the bathroom from either bedroom, you could not lock the bathroom door when you were in it. So someone using the restroom could be locked in the bathroom, but could not lock anyone out. This set-up was awkward with our teenage children who were afraid to shower for fear that we would barge in any time. The ability to lock the bathroom doors from the inside would have been helpful. Being able to spend some time together in the evening after a full day would have been nice, as well, but was impossible since we had to choose one cramped room or the other. Other than these issues, the rooms were clean.
