Old hotel
We spent 3 days in Berlin. The hotel is very old, older than we thought it would be. The elevator was a struggle to figure out how to work. The breakfast was ok. The weather was unusually hot and there is no air conditioning. The area is good, very close to the fancy Kurfürstendamm, but far away from historical sites so we had to take taxis. Overall was ok.

Would stay again
The location was nice. Restaurants near by. The hotel is a old building and it was good for 4 people to stay in one room. Large room but very tiny bathroom. The breakfast buffet was good . Something for everyone.

Highly recommended
Staffs were so so so friendly and very helpful! Breakfasts were good and the hotel located in a nice location easy to travel around with public transportations, 2-3 mins walk to the sky train and the bus stop, 5-6 mins to the tube, the elevator at the hotel was broken for my whole trip but that's ok, the hotel is a bit old but nice and clean, my room was big and has a balcony to smoke (room 40) the floor all over the hotel makes sound all the time but I guess that's alright

this hotel shares the old building with other busi
The hotel located very close to bus station 109 which brings you to airport door. The room was very clean but windows need paint. The huge con is an elevator. At 3:30 in the morning it is dark, hard to find light switch and elevator did not work because someone did not close elevator doors properly. I had to carry my luggage downstairs and fell.

Beautiful and economical. Great location.
We booked one night here so we could arrive a day ahead and acclimate ourselves a bit before heading out on a trip to Wittenberg with a group. After a bit of a misunderstanding about the shuttle (it's advertised in the listing, but it is not free and you have to arrange days in advance), and issues communicating by phone due to language barrier, we were concerned about what we were getting into. We needn't have worried. The hotel was beautiful and our room very spacious and enjoyable. The balcony was refreshing at night and we were shocked by how quiet it was out there at night. There were plenty of local restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. There happened to be a classic car show just a block away the day we arrived. The breakfast was a typical German breakfast. A few issues mentioned by other reviewers--yes, the elevator is old and industrial (it's an old building) No, there isn't any air conditioning--and the fan kept the room very comfortable. A/C is just not as common in Europe as the US. No, not everyone speaks English. But we managed just fine, and found everyone pleasant. These "issues" did not bother us. We only stayed one night and had to head back to TXL to catch a shuttle and join our travel group. The front desk was very helpful about letting us know which city bus to take so we could avoid paying more for a taxi. Highly recommend. We would stay again, and wished we could have stayed longer before going on the rest of our trip.
