Hotel Monegal is ok, but I would say it's more of a hostel than a hotel. It's really centrally located, and the staff is really helpful - but there is no breakfast, there isn't a bar or a hotel restaurant. They have images of tables that looks like a restaurant - but there isn't one. The room was very small, there is no heating so I was very cold in the nights. The door handle to the bathroom door fell off the first thing that happened. That being said, I was in Barcelona working, and I slept well, despite my room being next to the communal bathroom/showers. The staff is probably the best thing about this hotel. I'm not saying stay away, as I did have a nice time, but make sure you know what you book, as this is more of a hostel than a hotel. Thanks to the staff for being so nice!

Room was clean, bed was very comfortable. Chair not so much. The bathroom was nice but the shower was narrow and a little awkward. Not too bad, just enough to be noticeable. Tile floor throughout the room made for cold feet.

Wonderful staff, terrible hotel.
I should have read the reviews. This hotel is in a perfect location, but you sacrifice comfort for convenience. The elevator is tiny. The rooms are very small. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. The shower curtain sticks on you while you’re showing because there are no weights on the curtain. The wall are very thin leading to a lot of noise from both outside and inside the hotel. You need to leave your key with the front desk before you leave the hotel to wander around the city. I must say though that the front desk staff is FANTASTIC! They were all so nice and friendly. If they gave this hotel a facelift, more comfortable accommodations and added some soundproofing, I’d stay again.
