😡. Disappointed customer!
Not good...rustic smelly room...too soft and sunken mattress...noisy ac...noise from adjoining room.

Beware the Air Conditioner
The inverter air conditioner with fan on the wall at the head of the bed is badly positioned. With the fan running all night and blowing down you cannot rest.

Disappointing Inn
The Village Inn is an attempt at improving an old-fashioned motel. The room was adequate, but had a musty odor, the bed was too soft and the pillow too hard. The breakfast was far worse than many of the chain hotels, with limited offerings. We took one look and headed to a local restaurant for breakfast. When we checked in and asked about local sights, the people at the desk seemed to lack the knowledge they needed for the location of the inn.

Very Good8.0
Nice couples overnight
My wife and I stayed overnight for an anniversary trip. The inn was nice and the grounds were pretty. The room was not large, but was more than adequate for an overnight trip. We both enjoyed relaxing on the private deck with our coffee. The bed was comfortable. The afternoon wine/cheese reception was nice. The continental breakfast was decent but would welcome some fresh fruit as an option. Location is within easy walking distance to the historic downtown area which we enjoyed as our evening entertainment - just walking around, checking out the shops and enjoying the atmosphere. This is the only place we have stayed in Blowing Rock, but from what I can tell it seems comparable to the other inns within walking distance as far as atmosphere and size. Some of the others we passed were closer to the center of Main Street, which could be a plus or minus depending on what you are looking for. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay with no complaints. Next trip will consider trying another inn just for comparison, but would not hesitate to return here if it is what is available in the price range.

Great place to stay
This is a very nice place to stay. It was close to dining and shops. You could actually walk into town. The room was great! We are considering stopping here in the future on one of our trips to Asheville and we would stay longer.
