8/10 Very Good

The location of this hotel was great if you're interested in the museums. It is also right down the street from the main park which we enjoyed. It is a no frills hotel though. We had an issue with the shower flooding and despite asking for it to be fixed, it wasn't. We were only there for 2 days and managed it by turning down the pressure, so it wasn't a big deal, but know that this is not a top of the line hotel. It is reasonably clean, comfortable and affordable for a short stay.

No room to swing a cat
Room was very small and cramped. We couldn’t both stand up at the same time. The narrow beds were comfortable but elbows could easily touch between them. A luggage rack was provided but there was nowhere to put it except in front of the main door, so we didn’t use it. Bag placed on only available surface, the desk. The desk had a chair but there was no way anyone could have sat in it. Too tightly jammed in. A freestanding storage unit with kettle on top was occupied by a safe and a locked fridge! That was space we might have used for rucksacks and shoes. Access to a very narrow hanging space was blocked by the unusable chair. There were also two fans and possibly two heaters. Too uncomfortable to explore. The room probably could get very hot or cold depending on the season. Bathroom with small basin (no plug) , toilet and shower was adequate. Staff were helpful and polite and breakfasts were good but we won’t be rushing back

8/10 Very Good

Good location, good service, and decent room.
First off, to find this hotel you should note that the sign visible when you are walking up only says “Hotel”. This is common in Amsterdam. The location was great. It’s just a few minutes walk from the Metro and tram stops. It was very easy to get around from this point. The “lobby” is simple and small as well as crowded all times of days with other guests checking in and out. Service at the front desk is fast. There is a vending machine with water, sodas, chips, and beer as well as a free to use coffee machine. The room was decent. Stairs to the room are steep but there an elevator. The walls are thin (old building and all), so if you’re a light sleeper be sure to bring ear plugs. Guests were overall quiet but you can hear people walking up and down the creaky stairs. There is a weird tablet style clock that I couldn’t figure out how to turn off or dim the screen and ended up putting a towel over it at night. My advice to the hotel should just get rid of the device. It is antiquated at this point. It’s a small thing. Bathroom had a very small corner shower that has a small step to get over to get in. Was fine for us but if you are plus size or have limited mobility, this shower might be challenging. The towel was wedged between the shower and the wall as had limited space around it as well. Other than the size, the bathroom was great. No conditioner was provided, only 3-1 hair/body soap. Good stay overall!

Great location for a solid price!
I thought this hotel was in a great location! It's in "Museum Quarter" so you're really close to the museums, which are must-do here. Also, it's directly next to an entrance to Vondel Park which is great for cycling, running, and/or just hanging out. Loved the park! Also only a short walk to the nearest tram station, which was a great way to get around. I would stay here again!

Great location. Super tiny bathroom and the front desk staff could have been friendlier but overall would stay again for the location.

The room’s cold.. the tea cups were dusty. the bathroom’s leaking & should be definitely mended. The wifi’s really bad. Couldn’t sleep properly at night due to the noise in the corridor. Only the garden view from the room is nice..

Strategic with access to tourist places
Other than the room size which to me is a bit small for 2 adults, the rest were superb. Its location was strategic, near to the amazing park for a quick walk & walking distance to tourist attraction places. We even walked to the city centre for our shopping. Very close to high street designer brands boutiques & of course, the museums! Highly recommended👍

Well located and easy to find, but the sound of animals in the walls all night was a little disconcerting. Shower was clean and the room was warm. Just be aware if you get a basement room that the windows aren't fully sealed so sounds and smells from outside get in. Fine for the price.
