Potential to be better
The Inn is older, but cute. I would have been completely happy with our stay if the walls were not paper thin, the pillows were higher than a 1/2 inch (...seriously) and if they had cleaned our rooms properly. The upside is it is in a nice area, not far from Frenchman and there are some great little places nearby to visit for a drink or bite to eat.The price is excellent for that area, but if I stayed again I would request a different room and would expect better housekeeping. We were in a room that had an adjoining room next to it and we could hear literally everything (conversations, flatulence). Our bed was not "made". The covers were hastily thrown over the bed (similar to when a 4 year old makes their bed) and the trash was not removed even once during our 3 night stay. There is certainly room for improvement and with a little more care this place would be a real gem with it's great New Orleans character.

Overall good, with some gripes
Overall the hotel was a good value, with nice staff, solid continental breakfast, and excellent location. However, hardwood floors were very dirty or had some sort of product on them (they left feet and socks black), the wi-fi cut out for most of one day, and couldn't be connected to in our room (we needed it for work), and the walls were thin so we could hear neighbors and people doing construction on the hotel at 8:30 in the morning.

Hotel in Faubourg Marigny Historic District
This hotel is located in Faubourg Marigny Historic District. Since the wifi was not working, I have to move to its sister hotel, New Orleans Guest House.

Save your money...
My room was small, over-priced and dirty. The ceiling fan was furry, the walls had cobwebs on them, there was unfinished, exposed/peeling paint and plaster. The laminate floors had a disgusting, greasy film on them. I refused to go barefoot. After politely complaining, I had to wait until the next day to speak with a manager about how dirty my room was. Since it was the beginning of Mardi Gras and the NBA All Star game weekend, there were no other rooms anywhere near town for me to move to. I spoke to the manager the following morning and he offered to have my room cleaned and freshened up. He also offered a 20% discount on my first night's stay to compensate for my inconvenience. Convenient for him... as that was $79/night... opposed to the next two nights at a rate of $305/ night. No simple amenities such as towel racks or hooks. Courtyard is cute, but smells musty. It's has a locking iron gate for security. I was told upon check in to not walk the neighborhood at night. Be sure you have access to transportation... Such as an Uber account, as it's quite a long walk to any area of interest. Closest area is the French Market at a 10-15 minute walk.
