About Anse Chastanet Resort, Soufriere

Secluded and with music provided by the forest's nocturnal tree-frog chorus, the romantic Anse Chastanet Resort in Soufrière, St. Lucia, is a popular Caribbean getaway for couples, a tranquil world at the end of a two-mile forest road. Perched on 600 acres of tropical foliage, the resort provides snorkeling and scuba diving within 100 yards of the beach, kayaking, jungle mountain biking and hiking, sunset cruises, deep-sea fishing, and tours of Soufrière's "drive-in" volcano.

Five minutes away, the resort's second beach fronts a 500-foot wide, two-mile deep canyon that once served as a 17th-century sugar and cocoa plantation. Here, 12 miles of mountain-biking and hiking trails snake through jungles laced with mangos, coconuts, bananas, and cocoa.

Resort Features.
Guests of the Anse Chastanet Resort can relax at the Kai Belté Spa with shiatsu and hot-stone massages, warm oil and herbal wraps, and yoga. The resort's hillside Treehouse Restaurant features panoramic Caribbean views, candlelit ambience and "treetop" seating, and serves steamed mahi mahi, rack of lamb, pan-seared kingfish, and chicken breasts stuffed with goat cheese. The open-air, beachfront Trou au Diable specializes in salads, sandwiches, rotis, and Italian and Creole foods. Guests can unwind with a drink at the resort's 2 bars/lounges.

Secluded among tropical foliage on the beach or in the hills, the resort's 49 guestrooms offer terra cotta tile or hardwood floors, and furniture made from local mahogany, teak, breadfruit, greenheart and purpleheart woods, and West Indian madras cloth. Accommodations also include locally made straw rugs, pottery, carved-wood decorations and art, and yellow ceiling bulbs that cast soft light from underneath wicker shades.

Ceiling fans and windows cool the Anse Chastanet Resort guestrooms. Free WiFi is available, but televisions, radios, clocks, and telephones are confined to the main building, so guests can relax without modern intrusions.

Perfect place to relax or adventure!
Where to start!? This resort is amazing! The staff members are all so kind, helpful, and genuine. The open air rooms are an amazing concept. We stayed in 8C, which has a straight, unobstructed view of the Caribbean Sea, and the incredible sunsets. The housekeepers come morning to tidy the room, make the bed, etc, and again in the evening to turn down the bed, light the citronella, and anything else you may need. Everyone is always willing and wanting to help. Always with a smile. The atmosphere is so relaxing and inviting. We mainly lounged while we were there. Anse Mamin beach was not busy and was a short 15 min walk from the resort. 5 min boat ride back with Jungle on his boat. I could go on and on for days about everything this resort offers. They cater to you and your wants and desires. Peter the mgr gives a tour of the resort each morning at 9. Abo at the beach is quick and helpful. Marilyn was my favorite, and just made me laugh and smile each time we met. Nightly music at the Piton Bar was not loud and overbearing...just enough to entertain while eating/drinking/dancing. The food was TOP NOTCH. We did the AI plan and enjoyed everything we tried. I even had the bartender make up something not on their drink list and it turned out so good I ordered it a few more times while we stayed there. You can't go wrong with Anse Chastanet. You're in the jungle AND right at the beach. Who else has that?! And they have a shuttle that goes to/from UVF. We will be back!!

We Love This Place
We stayed here for the 4th time last week. As always, the grounds were beautiful as were the views of the water and the Pitons. We like to snorkel, so this is one of the few great places on St. Lucia. The hotel is happy to make returning guests feel welcome. Since it was our anniversary, they had a couple of bottle of wine waiting for us -- very nice. Because of two weddings that were happening during our stay, we weren't able to get the exact room by number which we requested; but they did their best to upgrade us. I think for newcomers as well as returnees, they really try to upgrade you so that you will fondly remember them. We have. Beware of the 130 stairs leading and up and down. We did them twice a day -- for beach time and then to eat. There are other restaurants at the higher level, but we liked Aspara. Excellent food and pricey. Couldn't tell if most people were on some kind meal plan, however we are not big eaters so it was not a value to us. By the way, they do offer rides so you don't have to deal with the stairs. The rooms are breathtaking and we love coming back to AC.

Very restful, very beautiful
Loved the resort, although the hill climb between the beach and the reception and then reception to the accommodation was daunting we found that a little bit of day planning made it easier and less frequent. On the whole the food and the staff were excellent - our room was gorgeous with views both of the beach but also of the Pitons (room 7E). We were on the meal plan and I would recommend that to anyone, there iis nowhere else to get to easily so you are going to end up eating in the resort and unless you have the will power of super human you are going to eat the food and drink the cocktails. I cant see how you could do this for less of the cost of the meal plan. Some of our party were on the all inclusive plan, if you intend to really enjoy yourself then this is definitely worth doing (Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon tea and dinner, all with Cocktails - definitely going to save money all inclusive). For those of us not going for 4, 3 course meals a day was a bit cheaper on the Dinner/Bed/Breakfast plan. But it was close. Great snorkeling at the beach, however the private part of the beach stops at the waters edge so there are often a lot of divers from elsewhere diving he two reefs - could get a little busy. WiFi in the room worked but was a little intermittent - but that was not necessarily a bad thing. THere was Wifi at the beach for those using tablets.

A unique place, for always a favourite memory
Authentic and certainly not average, luxurious but far away from everything that is standard. Perfect, very helpful service. And just so blissfully quiet and beautiful.
