Quaint, friendly and well located hotel
We arrived at 1 a.m. on a late flight and were quickly checked in by a welcoming Night Auditor. Our room was small but well appointed, clean and quiet. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. One note: we are small to average sized people and the bathroom area and shower was a tight fit. Larger folks might find it too small. There was a small shelf in bath for storage but I kept my toiletries in my suitcases due to space. The rooms and hallways have interesting decorations; a bear and a knight statue in armor, and an interesting painted and decorated ceiling in our room (403). The staff was friendly, and the location superb for exploring SF. We didn't eat breakfast there but they had a cozy, inviting breakfast room on the ground floor. Recommend without reservation.

Perfection!
What’s not to love about Cornell de France? The staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. The location couldn’t hav been better. The property was full of charm and character. The rooms were clean and had all the amenities we needed. One word of advise..there is no AC. Being from Texas, we were initially alarmed, but the outside Temp truly doesn’t warrant a need for AC. There was a fan in our room, and windows open to let in a nice breeze. We noticed very few establishments that used AC. The morning breakfast was great, with friendly servers. Free breakfast is only given to those who book on the hotel’s website or directly by phone. We will definitely stay here again, should we return to SF. In addition, the one issue I was most concerned about, which was the solicitation from homeless persons, did not turn out to be a issue at all in this area. Even around Union Square it seemed ok as well. We drove through the Tenderloin on the way to airport, and that area was definitely saturated.

Wonderful, quaint hideaway
Wonderful stay at the beautiful Cornell Hotel de France. The room reminded my wife and I of hotels we had stayed in in Europe, although the Cornell was honestly nicer. We specified a 'cozy' which was smaller by American standards, but not European ones. The room was also more expensive by European standards, but NOT by San Francisco standards. By a long shot. In fact, this was the cheapest 'nice' room we found. The room was just perfect, the bed very comfortable, great bathroom and water pressure, great wifi. And when we walked through the hallways and saw all the paintings (different French painters represented on each floor) it brought smiles to our faces. We can't wait to come back to SF and stay there again.

Loved the Hotel Cornell Hotel de France !
This hotel was charming, we were only there for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. It truly is a little bit of Paris in the middle of San Francisco, the room was beautiful and the breakfast was perfect, the staff were helpful and pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel!
