Imperial Mae Ping needs total renovation
The best thing about this hotel is its location; it two blocks from the Night Market where you can get excellent Thai street foods and can do great shopping. However, the red-light district of Chiang Mai also starts from Imperial Mae Ping. That said, Imperial Mae Ping is in need for a total renovation. The carpets are worn and torn; the bathrooms have mold; and the swimming pool has broken tiles. I would suggest not going to Imperial Mae Ping for at least a couple of years until the hotel has been renovated and you hear good reviews from future guests.

Only do it if you get a great price
The bell boys spend most of their time talking to one another. They offer to help you with your luggage once you've already carried it into the lobby yourself. The rooms aren't super clean. The toilet flushed water upwards. The only positive was that the booking price was good because if it weren't then it's not worth it.

Needs some TLC.
I stay here quite often and I will continue to stay here, but it’s long past time for an upgrade to the rooms. Please get rid of that tatty carpet and modernize the bathrooms.Thats all that it would take to keep the Mae Ping competitive.

Great hotel. Great location. Decent price.
Everything was wonderful except that room service is not available 24/7. Breakfast was not available til 11am! I had to walk down to restaurant and order for them to deliver. When I went to order the staff was confused and unorganized.

The Imperial Mae Ping Hotel 2/24/18 - 2/26/18
The positive - The managers & staff were friendly & helpful. Location is great...very close to the night bazaar, good restaurants & not too far far from the old city. The breakfast is excellent. (lots of choices Asian & American styles.) The pool areas are relaxing & clean. The negative - Rooms are loud! (The windows did not close all the way & do not seal, so there's a lot of noise from outside. It was so loud in our room that we requested a room change. They offered to move us to a smoking room, but we don't smoke so I asked them to send a manager to our room to experience the noise themselves. The manager came up & agreed to move us to a non-smoking room on the opposite side of the building & we very much appreciated that.) The rooms were a little grungy. Both rooms had stained & worn carpet & the showers in both rooms were moldy. Overall it's not a horrible place to stay, but it's wasn't great either. On a 1 to 5 scale I'd give it a 3 at best.

One of the major 4 stars in CM. Located on side street near Night Market and naughty Loi Koh. So everything is handy. The hotel is well-kept, has extensive grounds, several restaurants, one of the better breakfast buffets in Thailand, very well landscaped pool. Staff service is excellent. Decent Wi-Fi throughout property . My room was a deluxe, very well appointed, soundproofed and comfortable with a great view on the 12th floor. I can't think of anything that's wrong with this place.
