Room and room services could be better
Overall was quite disappointed. Paid for a Premium Room with Ocean View - the view to the ocean was obstructed by coconut trees. People should avoid taking rooms 2416 and 2418 as they have obstructed views. I did complain to the front desk but they said we're fully booked and can't readjust you to another room. The rooms are also rather-dated with creaking floorboards and noisy cupboards/wardrobes ... and in general, the room is relatively small ... we ordered room service and there simply wasn't sufficient space to enjoy meals in peace. We also arrived at 3:30pm but had to wait until 4:30pm to be checked-in to the room as room wasn't ready yet. We had requested double beds but were given king-bed with a baby-crib ... our son couldn't sleep well in the baby crib and we have difficulty managing in the king-size bed. The presence of baby-crib also made walking in the room very uncomfortable and tight. The hotel doesn't have a very happening beach spot either. The in-room service meals are also quite pricey with small portions. The only 100% thing about the hotel are its staff .... always friendly, smiling and willing to help. However, the management needs to focus on its offerings .... charging nearly $300 a night for the premium rooms, they are not worth it in my opinion.

Good 6.0
We booked the premium room with 2 queen beds and a balcony. The resort is very beautiful. The room was perfect for us. But for a 5 star resort i was expecting better. The room was very clean but the balcony they dont clean it well i had to tell them to clean it and they did but couldn't clean it that well. When i am on vacation i love to sit in the balcony and enjoy the view cause that's why we took a room with balcony but the railings in the balcony was so dirty that you dont want to lean over the railings. The pool has a breath taking view where you can see the beach and mountains but again for a 5 star resort the bottom of the pool wss not that clean, lots of leaves and dirt at the bottom. The place is a bit far from most of the areas you would want to visit. We took a grqb from the airport and he was so kind that we took his phone nr and had him drive us where evwr we wanted to go. Don't take the island tour at the hotel cause they will charhe you 250myr for 1 person. Our grab driver took is directly to the jettie station and it only cost 40myr per person.

Exceptional 10.0
great conference and relaxation get-away
I stayed at the Westin Langkawi whilst attending a conference at the Langkawi Convention Centre. The hotel was well set out with spacious rooms, beautiful pools, a good fitness centre, friendly staff, good restaurants (a little slow at the busy times) and a nice beach. Breakfast was excellent and diverse, including champagne and a range of freshly squeezed juices and smoothies. There were really only 2 restaurants and a bar for casual meals which limited the dining options but the room service menu and food was very good. The resort is a little isolated from the rest of Langkawi Island's activities with limited options for meals outside of the restaurant itself unless you wanted to take a half hour taxi ride. It is close to the ferry 'terminal' for travel to outlying islands. The beach at the Westin is small with shell/pebble sand but a beautiful view out to the Andaman Sea and nearby islands.

honeymooners Westin Experience
-Takes a long time for hot water to come when having a shower -Pillows hard to sleep on left us with a hurt neck and back -Aircon leaked water on the floor -Staff are very friendly and attentive -Breakfast excellent I found that paying $1700+ AUD for two days - they lack generosity, no complementary spa time for honeymooners, no complementary snacks as other private villas half their price range have provided. The Westin Private villa isn't so private anyone is able to look into the "private pool area" therefore it's not so hijab friendly. Unfortunately this place has let us down. We thought we would leave the "best" to last, but i would have to say compared to our previous villa, Westin hasn't left us with a great impression. Overall rating: 3 Stars and that is being generous.

Good 6.0
The room and the hotel grounds are lovely, but sand flies in the beach and swimming pool was not a joke! Very itchy bites! And also almost everyday there was a function at the hotel (a wedding and a birthday party) which meant one of the swimming pools were not available to guests. The ice cream booth: only 3 flavours left( no vanilla!!! ) and very little of each! Which meant they didn’t look very appealing, all spread around the tub! Not a pleasant scene! And quite pricey, a scope of 19RM?!!! Since there was a function any the pool, the towel counter had shifted or couldn’t be seen, so I asked the resturant staff for direction, and they sent (directed me) towards the villas for spa!!! After 10 min walk between the villas, I went back and asked again from someone different, and they showed me the counter. I always thought very highly about the resort and was looking forward to have a good holiday in a 5 star hotel. But to be honest I am pretty disappointed, and the resort failed to meet my expectations from a 5 star hotel.
