No masks or Covid precautions taken. So sketchy

I ended up getting another room after my experience here. No employees were wearing masks, they wouldn’t let me into the office area, kept it locked, but would let other guests in there for some reason. When I arrived 3 of the guests came up to my car and told me to roll down my window and asked for a ride to another town. There was a dozen or so young adults outside smoking with no masks on. One employee was going around getting the names and ages (all around 18 or younger) as 8 or so of them were sharing one room. No Covid precautions taken anywhere. The rooms comforter had cigarette holes in it. Very dirty. The hotel was compliant in renting out one room to a ton of teenagers who didn’t wear masks. Never staying here again, would love a refund.

    Christmas Visit

The service was amazing! Wonderful people at the front desk. The room had a funky odor. It's an old building though. Nice sized rooms. The TV kept turning off. Something was amiss with the brightness. I couldn't seem to fix it with the remote or the TV's menu options. The neighbors were getting it on. Although I didn't hear vocalizations, the knocking on the wall was arousing me from my sleep. It went on all of one night. I kept saying, are you done yet? But only to humor myself. I am sure they didn't hear me. I am certain however, that someone got their money's worth that night. The area is sketchy. Homeless on the streets, questionable interactions down the road, old dilapidated motorhome in the parking lot...I am not easily intimidated, but I sure felt the need to use caution.

    Not even 20th Century Amenities

When checking in the clerk seemed less than cordial. His attitude changed when he saw the room had been paid in advance and I was offering my credit card to run a hold for incidentals. It seemed presumptuous on his part to think I would do less than that. In my room I went to turn on the bedside light and it didn't come on. I went to the other side and this one did come on. I went to put groceries in the refrigerator and noticed it wasn't running. I didn't want to change rooms, so I let it go for the moment. I tried to turn on the TV and it too didn't work, looked under the desk it was sitting on and saw that it was unplugged. I tried to turn on the light on the desk and it too didn't come on. I plugged in the TV and it came on though the desk light did not. I thought maybe the same problem with the refrigerator, and when I checked, it was indeed unplugged as well. I plugged it in at it too began to run. I tried to hook my laptop into the TV through the external hdmi port but was unable using the remote to get the TV to recognize its own port. The remote was also not able to shut the TV off, nor was there any obvious way to do that on the TV itself, which probably explains why the TV was unplugged to begin with. Throughout the night I could hear people coming and going from any of the rooms around me, because the lock hardware on the doors is so loud when the door closes on its own, as to be startling when it happens. Not recommended if you want 20th century amenities.

Close to the highway, nice staff. Not well cared for grounds but clean inside the room. Thin bed coverings with cigarette holes in the bedspread. Refrigerator and microwave, no coffee maker or tea.

I had requested a handicap room on reservations but none was available. No rooms with single bed were ready ready for check-in at 3:00. Room I was given had a bed that was like sleeping on a board. Microway door would not open. I asked for a wake up call at 7:00 AM. The phone wake-up first rang at 8:20 PM Then again at 9:15 PM, I called front desk and was told the system must be having troubles. Again at 12:45 it rang. It did not ring a 7:00. So much for a good nights sleep.
