We were impressed by the size and overall furnishings in our room. The staff were also friendly and check-in was easy.
The shower/bath area didn’t have one place to hang a towel - not a towel bar, shelf, hook, or anything else. Only option was to leave on the bathroom floor. There was also a piece of soap left behind in the shower from a prior guest, which makes me wonder about the attention to detail in cleanliness. There was a nice, deep soaking tub, but unfortunately, you couldn’t fill the tub to a good soaking level without running out of hot water (!).
Bed comfort is a little subjective and if you like a really firm mattress, you’ll likely be pleased. It was a little too firm for us (and seemed to be some kind of hard memory foam) and the simple metal frame that held it squeaked anything someone moved. No extra blankets anywhere.
It was somewhat noisy from the street, and was missing some basic things you’d expect from a hotel - alarm clock, info book about the hotel and things to do in the area.
Overall, we felt it came up short. There were so many “little things” that seemed to have been overlooked or forgotten, (or maybe just unable to be completed during reno) that made this a “meh” experience when it has so much potential to be a truly exceptional one. Even walking through the hotel, the furniture in common spaces was warm and inviting, but it’s like the walls were forgotten - no artwork or mirrors. There’s a little more aesthetic/functional work to do.
