Wonderful! Just book it!
The absolute best place in the land. The lodge is authentic and beautiful. The drives out with the ranger (who was great by the way) were fabulous— we saw all five, including some great close ups of male lions and the elusive lepoard. The staff was absolutely wonderful and always accommodating. I am actually planning my next trip back. I adore this place.

Fantastic lodge in Kruger
Jock is an amazing place to stay! The game drives were fantastic - the rangers/drivers/guides were very knowledgable and skilled at locating animals and at driving off road. Patrick was our guide and we enjoyed his drives and enthusiasm for the animals. We were able to see almost all the animals we wanted to see, iuncluding the elusive cheetahs and leopards. We even saw a honey badger and a porcupine, as well as all the usual animals you expect to see. The lodge itself was wonderful, and the service was top-notch. Everyone at the lodge sees to the comfort and care of the guests. I recommend Jock to anyone seeking a truly memorable experience in Kruger.

Kruger magic
I can't begin to describe how amazing Jock is. From the moment we arrived everything was perfect!!! I wanted to propose to my fiancée in Kruger and found Jock on but wasn't sure if it would be the right place. In the end, I couldn't imagine anything better. The manager Naomi was amazing and deserves an Oscar for her acting skills and secret keeping. Our Ranger Micah grew up in the area was extremely knowledgable about the bush and it was fantastic learning from him. We saw pretty much every animal we could imagine including the rare sights like a black rhino and honey badger. I've been going to Kruger since a child and it was really great to be able to drive on Jock's private concession roads away from the crowded tar roads. The food was delicious and true to it's african roots. It was also really great having the alternating boma and fine dining nights. The rooms are very spacious and it's nice that there are only 12 of them so it's not overcrowded. The private splash pool was cute but it was mid-winter so we never swam. The lodge is right on the banks of two rivers and you often see animals right in front of your room and restaurant. On the last morning there was a whole pack of hyenas in the river which was cool. I've stayed at many luxurious 5-star hotels in my life and Jock outshines them all because of the personal touches - A home away from home. Overall it was an extremely memorable stay. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to return for the honeymoon.

Amazing experience, highly recommend
I am SO glad I splurged in Jock Safari Lodge. I visited Kruger during a month and a half backpacking trip through Southern Africa where I'm mostly staying at hostels. On the advice of a friend I decided to really splurge for Kruger, spending three nights at Jock. I can honestly say it was worth every penny. Accommodation was truly luxurious: private, with an outdoor shower, tub, and sleeping area, plus private pool, an indoor shower, a sitting area, and netted four-poster bed. The food was delicious and ever-flowing (you get fed every couple of hours, it's a little ridiculous but in the best way). Staff were lovely and friendly. But the best part is the access you get in the park. You get knowledgeable game drives in their private concession, giving you incredible access to the animals. I saw the big five, plus wild dogs and leopards. Just amazing. My only piece of feedback is that it was a bit awkward traveling alone there. While I appreciated the solo game drives, during breakfast and dinner I would have preferred to either be seated by myself or with another guide group. Eating alone with just my guide was a bit odd, even if he was very nice. In the future I'd recommend the manager ask solo travelers what their preference is.
