Great Location/Terrible Smell
Everyone we interacted with at the Merritt House Hotel was charming, helpful, and extremely professional. Rafaela and Tracy at the front desk were great! The location of the hotel is perfect, and the grounds are lovely. 5 stars for these categories. However, the rooms in the Historic Adobe where we stayed for 2 days smelled terrible. Very musty and moldy. We propped a fan in front of a window, left the front door open, bought a bottle of vinegar, and put cups of it all around the suite – everything we could think of to help mitigate the odor. After several hours, it got a little better but never went away. If you're going to charge over $400 per night for a hotel room, the room should not have this issue. For anyone considering staying in the Historic Adobe, I would advise confirming in advance that steps have been taken to fix this issue.

Very nice stay.
Beautiful hotel in a good location. Staff were super nice and attentive. Breakfast ok, although heavy on carbs and sugar ie bread, muffins and sugared cereals and baked goods. Our only gripe is that the parking was super expensive and an add on to an expensive stay. As parking is free after 6 pm on the streets we opted to park there over night. For the price of the hotel the parking should be included.

Tge location is great and the staff is nice , the only bad thing is the quality of the beds is horrible , both me and my wife woke up with sore backs from the springs poking us .
