We stayed for 2 nights, myself and my two children(11&13). The room was lovely, just what we needed. The pool was lovely, the water was warm! Kids played on the astros- a bit run down. We ate both nights in the bar, was all good. Lacked atmosphere, and could do so much with the grounds as its out of town would be great if there were some activities for kids and adults. I believe it has just re-opened, I will return and hope to see more improvements. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the staff were great.

Needs to up its game
Booked a room to accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids. Asked for a cot to be put in the room. On arrival, booking could not be found. Eventually found it and got me checked into 2 interconnecting rooms. This wasn't ideal as our kids are very young. We ordered dinner in the bar. The food was basic but acceptable and the service was friendly but not as prompt as I'd like. Our waitress seemed more interested in watching the final of Love Island!! Ordered a white hot chocolate and a calypso coffee after dinner. Both were terrible - I'm not convinced the waitress knew how to make them as they took an age! After dinner we went for a short walk around the hotel. Outside of the front facade, the external bits you can't see (when you drive up) need SIGNIFICANT attention - overgrown walkways, broken furniture, broken lighting, broken glass, etc. I got the impression it was the kind of place that had to close during the recession and is trying to get back on its feet.

Relaxing and comfortable stay
Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was very comfortable and had everything I needed. I enjoyed having the chance to swim some laps in the pool.

Good for a stop over
I stayed 2 times in this hotel. The 1 time we went to book in they had half our booking only 1 room when we booked 2. The 2nd time we went to book in the woman just said our computer is not working and made us write down our information. The food was very slow. Good hotel just needs a good management team
