Great boutique hotel, hip design, love Shinjuku.
Loved staying at The Knot and it's worth a visit. I spent a LOT of time researching hotels for my week in Tokyo and The Knot was by far the best bang-for-the-buck of any place I found. PROS: * Brand new, super hip design. Lobby is vibrant and energetic -- they have a DJ station and play chill electronic & jazz music all the time, so it's really nice to hang out there. * Bakery in the lobby is terrific * Location in Shinjuku is awesome - it's a great neighborhood, though a bit Times Square'ish (but check out Piss Alley and Golden Gai - both nearby) * Proximity to Shinjuku Chuo park is awesome - it's a wonderful park to wander. * Don't worry about subway access as other reviews have mentioned -- Shinjuku station is a ~15 minute walk but you don't need to go to Shinjuku station. Tochomae and Nishi-shinjuku-gochome are both ~5 minutes away and you can get everywhere you need via those stations. * The staff is helpful and great - even though check-in/check-out is via kiosk (which is better, IMHO), there's still an English-speaking lobby staff who can help with logistics and restaurant reservations. CONS: * The rooms are SMALL - be prepared. I'd totally stay there for a weekend, but after a week, my girlfriend and I were ready to have a bit more room * The coffee in the lobby sucks (lol). But that's ok - just go to Counterpart Coffee (<10 min walk away)
