Amazing gem in mid-town Sacramento
Super nice B&B in a trendy neighborhood. Feels like a home, with beautiful room, great soaking tub, and personalized breakfast in a cozy dining room. Area felt safe to walk around, with good restaurants and cafes. Lots of stairs so probably not suitable for people with disability.

Excellent B&B in a central location in Midtown
We came to Sacramento for a short weekend of food and brew touring. The Amber House was a perfect base and close to everything we wanted to experience. We walked around Friday night and felt very safe in the neighborhood. The room was super clean and comfortable. The decor is very 1800s and we LOVED it. The jacuzzi tub at the end of the night was wonderful. The bed was quiet and very comfortable (I have a lower back injury but I had no pain at the end of our stay). Hot tea in the morning was a wonderful way to wake up. My only complaint is that the heater turned on in the night, which irritated my allergies and made the room almost too hot to bear. I wish there was a way to turn the vent off in our room.

Surprised by the exceptional ratings of this Inn
We are so surprised at the exceptional rating of this Inn. It is decorated in Goodwill decor and is definitely scruffy, worn and rag tag. The 1320 building, the room and bathroom smelled from either cleaning solvents or some product used by the inn. We had to sleep with the windows open and the space heater on to survive the odor. ( 39°F) The breakfast is mediocre at best. The bed was comfortable!

A gem
This was my wife and I’s first time in a B&B so I was rather skeptical. This place is amazing. It is eloquently decorated. The Emily Dickinson room in which we stayed in was awesome, heart shaped jacuzzi which was to die for! A gas fireplace which was in the middle and could be seen from the jacuzzi as well as the bed. Only a queen size bed but that made it even more romantic. Parking was a bit difficult so get there early like 3-5pm. Eateries within walking distance. Simple but filling breakfast. I am so glad I stayed here and would definitely recommend staying here for more than a day!

Came here for our anniversary, beautiful place with a great room and bear claw tub. The owners were really kind and their pug was so very sweet. Would love to come back again, thank you!
