Anyone staying here should be aware of the true cost of a stay.Felt like we were being nickeled and dimed to death with service charges and a 17.5% vat on everything. Basically everything that is purchased in the hotel is actually 27 1/2 % higher than the cost stated.

It was PERFECT! Even though I had experienced two major problems, the service and care that I received comforted me each time to a level that I just knew was going to be resolved in a matter of time. First: I booked my rooms via Hotels.com. But after booking so, something told me to call the actual hotel to confirm that everything was alright. The Hilton responded that I didn't have a room on reserve and to wait about 30 to 60 minutes to call back and confirm whether or not everything went through alright. When I did the above, there still wasn't a room reserved for me. When I called Hotels.com they researched it, didn't find a room, apologized and attempted to find me a room at another hotel. This was not an option for me, but I had a function going on at this hotel that I had needed to be there for. Not to mention, each morning I had already arranged for a free shuttle to the golf courses that was only leaving from this resort. After a long time of dealing with this, I was finally transferred to another team for rebooking me to somewhere else. After going through everything above again for a while, I was finally able to get a room at the Hilton. OMG, talk about being stressed-out for already having purchased a flight and excursions for this vacation, yet being stressed for now not having a place to stay! Second: I arrived with one major problem, "I didn't have a room" because I had arrived a day late, due to missing my flight. This too was eventually resolved.

Overall a good stay
Overall a very pleasant stay at Hilton, Barbados. The room service was a major disappointment as the food was not what was advertised and lacked taste. The hotel is replete with signage indicating "If you are not satisfied with your stay, let us know and we'll make it right". However, when I bought the issue of the room service to their attention at checkout and asked them to remove the charge from my bill, it was like pulling teeth to get the charge removed. This continued for about 15 minutes with the front desk clerk making several calls and continually going into the manager's office behind the front desk. Eventually, they agreed to reduce the charge for the room service by 50% (for a meal which cost USD $25). This was most disappointing for a hotel of Hilton's caliber and one which promises to 'make it right'!

Hilton can do a little better
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time in Barbados and look forward to returning. We were however a bit disappointed with the Hilton. I believe we expected just a bit more polish from iconic hotel. Although the room appeared to be serviced,on night after bring out all day we discovered the sheets had not been changed although the bed had been made up. We were both shocked and confused by this discovery. To be fair the front desk did apologize and offered to send housekeeping up once the discovery had been made 8:30 that eve. On another day the toilet would not flush. On another occasion, clean wash cloths were not left in the room. I must say that the hotel staff was very accommodating and attentive to all of these issues, however I think the hotel can do a better job of fine tuning. I expect more from a Hilton establishment.
