Great neighborhood! Very uncomfortable twin beds; felt like true monastery experience with the uncomfortable beds. Yet, thr staff were helpful an we walked to all the sights.

One night in Gent
I stayed for one night with my boyfriend and cousin in the superior family room. I was skeptical about booking at first because of some of the reviews I read but we had a wonderful time. We arrived early, around 12pm, but our room was ready early and they checked us in free of charge. It is such a unique, lovely hotel. Our room had a small living room, table with chairs, two single beds, and a loft with an additional bed. We loved the charm and character of the monastery turned hotel. The location was also great, less than ten minutes to the city center.

Atmospheric and interesting
I short walk from the historic center of the city. This is a unique restoration of a monastery. The hallways are dark and atmospheric. The rooms have changed Little since last occupied by the monastic interns. As the rooms were living quarters they are large and spacious. with large owes radiators and huge windows you will be able to adjust your temperature. There are a few facilities in the hotel a small bar, which serves late into the night.

Charm Only Gets You So Far
The building itself is quite charming, a twisting, turning collection of hallways and staircases. Front desk staff was helpful and professional and very accommodating. They were the highlight of the place. Location is good, about 10 minutes from the main city center. The not-so-nice parts are the rooms. My room had old, outdated bedding materials that were, frankly, gross. There were big stains on the bed cover and the blanket was just plain dirty. I realize now that I should have asked for them to clean it, but failed to do so at the time. The beds themselves are worn out. The pillows are lumpy and flat. Uncomfortable. The bathroom was adequate but, again, some maintenance was needed. The sink was broken, I had to fix the drain to get it to work and the sink top was shattered around the bowl of the sink. Towels were adequate, but just so. I had hot water aplenty but my colleagues did not. Breakfast is good but overpriced at 17€. Overall, you get what you pay for but unfortunately at this hotel the cost cutting comes at the expense of basic comfort and cleanliness.

Nicely located close to centre of Ghent
Good quiet location close to centre of Ghent. Comfortable rooms with excellent wi-fi coverage. Rooms & furnishings though are extremely tired, and the discounted price is a true value not a bargain.
