Great location, noisy, historically confusing
I love historic places. Unfortunately, they've not done a great job of maintaining that history with many of the fixtures and supposed "remodel" in the particular room we were in. The bathroom door was a large vault door. Tough to explain but the outer vault door just squealed when you tried to close it. The inner safe door was a 2 piece with no handles where each side was supposed to be pulled inward? One side wouldn't close so, you had the privacy of a single half door to do your business. The main room door fit so poorly that there was a gap that let in light from the hallway that shown around the entire door all night. This also let in all the noise including the noise from the bar down the stairs that were right outside the door. Bed was comfortable enough although, again, a giant beautiful bed frame with a tiny little mattress and made up like a standard hotel room bed. If you're going to be historic, be historic. If you're going to mix the new and old, hire a designer who can do it right. Great location. Room was absolutely huge but, with no comfy furniture or place to hang out, and a tiny "tube" TV, I could not watch from the bed, it's not necessary to have that much space. Good thing there wasn't a wedding going on, it would have been 10 times worse. For the price, the room size, hottub (that dripped most of the night) and fireplace was just not worth the noise and lack of a door on the "vault" bathroom.

Very cool decor and perfect location.
We had a great girls weekend stay. Our room was spacious and we slept very well. The Victorian furniture and decor is very cool. Some things could use updating, but overall very nice place, and THE perfect central location.

Old, ran down and they don't care.
Ran down, they are using towels to stuff sagging sofas in the guest rooms. Free breakfast is not exactly free (they give you a $5 off $20 buffet for Sunday of which I was unaware of). I could go on and on, but this place is dingy and I have stayed at better $85/night Days Inns.
