About New Hôtel Gare du Nord, Paris

Convenient, quirky hotel by Gare du Nord

Convenient location
This conveniently located hotel puts you across from Gare du Nord, a major transport hub and terminus of the Eurostar. A ride aboard the metro gets you to Notre Dame Cathedral in 15 minutes and the Louvre in about 20 minutes. The RER runs straight to Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Ride to the shops
A 12-minute ride aboard the metro gets you to the massive, multi-level Forum des Halles shopping center, home of myriad shops, restaurants, and eateries. For something a little more stylish, a 20-minute ride gets you to the 10-story Galeries Lafayette department store.

A nod to the past
The New Hôtel Gare du Nord blends modern and historic motifs to create character. A breakfast buffet featuring croissants, chocolate, and juices is served up in the hotel's stone-walled cellar; a room designed to look as it did when it was built in 1850.

A bold statement
The 2-star hotel's guestrooms feature bright color schemes that are quirky and bold. Free WiFi and flat-screen TVs are among much-appreciated amenities.

Great Location
Hotel was well located. The rooms are small but no one cares at the end of the day as you only need a place to crash. There is food everywhere by the hotel Safouan (The receptionist) went above and beyond to make sure that we had a great time in France. Hotel is located across La gare du Nord where uou uave access to all trains and buses. We arrived by train from Italy and took the local train to the hotel (not even 1 minute walk) You can go to Sacred Heart and moulin Rouge by foot. Notre Dame, quartier latin, Place St Michel is only 10 minutes by train. The Eiffel Tower was about 20 minutes by hus(it is best to do the tower at night

Location and the coolest breakfast space
Literally across the street from Paris Gare du Nord train station - we were just crashing for the night after a late train arrival and an early car rental pickup. Very interesting building with a central spiral staircase - although it's also a bit odd in terms of some of the elevator access that occurs halfway up the spiral on some floors - and a shock the first time you step out! But the most pleasantly surprising feature is the vaulted stone basement breakfast room - such a neat space.

Met my need
Needed a fast room for just one night. It was ok. Hotel is old. I already knew that. My room was quiet and it had AC. Bed was comfortable. No complaint. I did see a mouse in the room where breakfast is served, but these old hotels serve their breakfast in the bottom rooms of the hotels and this is next to Gare du Nord train station —so—it was not really surprising to me.
