Country Inn amongst the Wineries: pleasant stay in St. Helena, we came for the weekend due to a Wedding, glad we picked Shady Oaks for two nights. Enjoyed our stay, the local eateries, the wineries etc. Nice staff and old time charm in the INN. Cordially Gail & Melvin

This is basically a bed and breakfast. For small. Very quaint. It is a three bedroom house, with each room available for rent. No one lives there. Every morning there is a wonderful lady who cooks breakfast for you and any other guests(one had eggs Benedict, another was homemade waffles). She also kept the rooms and house clean. And the house was immaculate. The property is off the main road nestled between vineyards(this is Napa Valley after all) . It is an old house with a very country feel. It's almost like it was my grandmothers house, minus having plastic on everything. It is not a very private room as there is a small hallway that separates the rooms. and the floor is a bit creaky(old hardwood underneath carpet). But it wasn't the end of the world.The original closets were turned into a bathroom in my room. So the shower was a bit small. Ultimately i enjoyed the room because the view outside of my window was a green field of grass with little yellow flowers.

Very friendly staff. Breakfasts were very good. This B&B is in a great location, very central and convenient to a lot of wineries (at least to the ones that we liked), and also a short drive to downtown St. Helena. Enhanced our weekend stay to the area.
