A Secret Gem
I write this review reluctantly, knowing that doing so might mean giving up any chance to stay here again. Arthur, the owner and manager, is gracious, genuine, attentive, and welcoming. He was more than happy to accomodate my request to check in early and was wholly focused on ensuring I had a great experience during my stay. The hotel itself is charming, quaint, and accessible. I have nothing but great things to say and know you will very pleased with your decision to stay at The Metro Hotel and Cafe.

Loved the arty feel, but bed not comfortable
Great artistic decor, good coffee. Would like a bit of protein for breakfast, even a boiled egg, although the crepes went with the French theme that was evident throughout the hotel. Didn't sleep much because the bed (queen-sized?) seemed small and sagged in the middle. New mattress needed! Quiet after other guests checked in. Stairs only, no elevator.

Fair4.0
disappointing
The hotel was old, decorated with "antiques", parking difficult and breakfast was coffee and crepes, no protein at all.

Loved it
Loved the décor and comfort. The only downer was that the power went out in the morning. Maybe it was because everybody had their portal heaters on. It was no biggie because it was my checkout day. The air steams trailers looked awesome.

Very Good8.0
Good stay
Nice place for the price, it’s a unique place with lots of character, breakfast was very minimal, so we did end up going somewhere else for that. It’s an old historic place with lots of character, so don’t expect a new pristine place.
