Aggie Inn, an Ascend Hotel Collection Member, Davis

Great location right next to UC Davis. Hotel is being extensively remodeled. The wing of the hotel I was in was very nice, but I was right next door to the construction area, so noisy during the day and starting fairly early in the morning (like at around 6:30 am). Staff was very friendly. Room was in great shape. In-room A/C works (necessary in Davis in summer) but is very noisy. They supposedly have bikes to borrow, but they were all checked out all week, so even though I would have certainly used one, none were available. Cookies in the evening were nice. Breakfast, included, has a great selection of hot and cold items (eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage, waffles, yogurt, cereal, pastries/muffins galore, etc.). Even had hot chocolate. WiFi was blazing fast. Great location next to downtown as well.

Came to tour UC Davis. Loved the hotel and location. They had remodeled the rooms and were not quite done yet so that is the only negative thing to say.

Unfortunately there was a lot of noise from the construction. The workers began early. The renovation will be great when it's complete, and I would stay there again. It would have been much better to have known about the renovation taking place BEFORE booking the room, so that I could have requested a room farther from the noise OR stayed elsewhere.

Love this sweet, convenient hotel. Great service.

Large room, comfy and clean, a great space to refresh ourselves after moving our son into his new apartment. The only negative was the desk clerk who was a bit clueless and inattentive (the morning clerk was fine though). We have stayed in Davis plenty and this is our favorite spot.
