Wine Country Overnight - Ridiculously Epic
We were in town for my husband to take his WSET Level 1 along his journey to become a Master of Wine. We made a short weekend out of it and booked Ramekins for our overnight stay. We were completely impressed by the inn - the appointments were superb and every detail and its level of cleanliness did not go unnoticed. We will definitely stay here again!

Not a lot of privacy
Not a lot of privacy at this hotel. The rooms are not in a separate area from the culinary school so there can be a bit of noise from events and classes. You also do not get to keep your key with you when you leave the inn each time and must leave it with the front desk. The result is that you must check in with the desk person each time you arrive back to retrieve the key which feels a bit like staying with your parents. There is a fair amount of noise between the rooms although the rooms themselves are quite large and comfortable. Overall the hotel was fine for me but I did feel a bit uncomfortable with all of the key stuff.

Nice hotel and a cooking school.
You can also take cooking classes as this has a school inside.

A Gem near the Plaza
I been to Sonoma multiple times, but this is the first time we stayed overnight. We wanted something within walking distance to the plaza in order to wine taste without driving. Ramekins had a better price than other B&Bs or Hotels and was situated nicely. What a surprise - there are only 6 rooms. The rest of the place is a cooking school and event hall/garden. Never knew it existed. Rooms were clean, well-appointed and spacious - in fact, they were huge by modern hotel standards. My only complaint would be the mattress, but that's because I just like a soft foam cover on a hard mattress. Truly, it was fine. The front desk was great, with lots of local information. I hope to be back.
