The lobby stunk of scented candles or some other pungent combustible. The only reason hotels do that is to cover up less acceptable smells. The towels were dirty and had holes in them. The room was way too hot with an obnoxiously noisy a/c - heating unit, and there was an equally decrepid dehumidifier going at full pelt, that implies that the smell that they were trying to cover up was mold. The cherry on the cake was listening to rodents in the walls, praying that they would not make it up to the barely intact ceiling and drop on my face or my wife and daughter's face in the night. Too good to be true.
Had booked a single king size room, upon getting to the hotel I was told that I was being given two full size beds because "there were things going on in town that day". When in reality, the hotel has most of it's rooms rented out to people living there. There was blood stains on the second bed and lil black marks on the sheets implying that there was at least at one time a bedbug infestation. There was exposed wiring behind the bed that wasn't horrid. I wasn't given a different rate for my room, and was basically told to deal with it. So between the dank smell, small beds and general uncleanliness, I would avoid the place at all costs. If I could get a refund, I would.
