Very Good8.0
It was nice.
The neighborhood was a little iffy but not too bad. The hotel was a little run down but not bad. The front desk folks were friendly and helpful. There's a hospital not far away so I heard sirens a lot. The bed was a little hard but overall it was a decent place for a couple nights.

Extremely hot; unsafe and unsecure
Positive: 1. Near city center and near public transportation 2. Staff are nice Negative: 1. There is NO aircondition unit. Extremely hot and you cannot leave the window open at night because it is extremely noisy at all hours. And even if you were to open the window, it would only open slightly and would hardly let the air in. 2. The rooms are old and dingy. 3. Elevator is very tiny and can only accommodate 1 person with luggage 4. Room phone does not work. One guest in the hotel was extremely drunk and on the last night of our stay, he banged on our door numerous times , attempting to open our door at midnight! We tried calling for help but pressing reception did not work. We were later told we should have used the keypad to call. There is, however, no sign or post anywhere to tell you what number you should call. The phone also has no dial tone! 5. Very noisy - you can hear everyone on the floor and outside. 6. There is NO CCTV. When we complained the next morning about the guy who was banging on our door and asked that they look into it, we were told they would have no way of knowing since they have no camera. 7. The shower area has molds.

Oktoberfest Stay
Stayed at Hotel Rivoli for two days during Oktoberfest with wife. Staff was helpful, hospitable, and spoke English. From the Munich Central Station, 10-15 minutes via rail, 20 minute cab ride, however too far to walk directly from the Central Station. Within walking distance of food. Clean hotel, good breakfast with classy feel, complimentary drinks in the room. Initially booked one day but had to book a second day last minute. The staff put the room on hold for us until we made a decision later that night, during Oktoberfest none the less. Only down side was a weak wifi signal in the room & thin pillows on the bed. Other than that I would stay there again.

Nice quiet rooms, very close to the tube station
My room was very nice and quiet even though the windows were facing the main street. The h-l is very close to the tube station and it is oposite the local supermarket which can save you a lot of time for traveling or shoping if you are hungry. It takes just 15 min travel by tube and you are at Central Munich. Friendly staff. That is the reason why I keep returning to this hotel for sixt year already, again and again. In the winter - the rooms have very good heathing.
