Colton Inn, Monterey
Hidden Gem
Stumbled onto this property after having my previous hotel reservation (made on cancelled by Knights Inn Carmel Hill in Monterey, CA without my knowledge.I was left desperate to find any booking available in Monterey, which was difficult to find, as this was the Memorial Day weekend.I guess there must've been a silver lining in this ordeal, as the Colton Inn turned out to be one of the most pleasant hotel stays I've ever experienced on a vacation to Monterey. Upon arriving at the check-in counter, I was greeted by a very lovely and friendly gal, who gave me a map of the hotel and thoroughly explained where all the amenities were. I also appreciated the plentiful counter snacks (brownie bites, cookies, fresh fruit, coffee & tea, etc.), as the drive over had been stressful with my previous rsvp with the "other hotel" abruptly cancelled, and not knowing if I would be able to book a decent hotel on such a short amount of time. I appreciated the cleanliness and organization of it all.Was assigned a beautiful room on the uppermost floor with a peaceful view of the greenery and city. The room was so cozy and beautifully decorated- I forgot for a second that I was not at a B&B.Quirky decor such as a vintage Coca Cola bottle opener attached to the bathroom sink and having an additional sink/ vanity in the room were a sure plus! The beds were comfy & ooms come with fridge/microwave.The fireplace room was also awesome.Just a bit strict with contract carefully.

Wi-Fi Issues
Had issue with wi-fi connection on first night when we arrive. For some reason, our Apple devices was not connecting, even the desk service clerk was not able to connect. But it resolved the next day, first time that has happened to us. Walls are thin, could hear our next door neighbors conversation. Room is very spacious.
