basic clean but dated
Basic room but with fridge and microwave clean bit very worn. good place to stay just for the night. limited parking there is street parking watch time restrictions! Staff helpful just not very friendly. Almost get the impression they are afraid of people who check in.

Worst hotel experience ever
I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. As soon as we got there from our 7 hour trip from Anaheim to San Francisco we find out that the hotel has no parking. I went and asked the person who was going to check us in where are we supposed to park and all he said was "sorry, parking is limited, you can park in the street" which was something they didn't let us know at all. How is it possible for them to have many rooms but not the same amount of parking space for the room they provide? Another thing was when we got to the room the walls looked as if they needed to be painted again. They looked discolored. Once the night was over when we went to check out no one was there at the office, we waited for 20 mins. We called the person, rang the bell they had, even my mom was yelling to see if someone would come to check us out. Finally, to end this bad stay when the guy comes to check us out he says that we could've just left the room keys on the desk.... like why would we do that??? Someone else could've come and taken them and whose credit card that was going to be charged was mine. So we left keys where he said and then he left. This was an awful experience, it's really not worth the money. I think sleeping in the car would've been a much better experience.

Sparse but does the job
I visit Berkeley for business. Since I own my own business, I'm always looking for cheap travel accommodations. This hotel was cheap and clean. It had few comforts and the three flights of stairs to the room grew old quickly. The mattress was hard as a rock and the bedspread was stained. But they cleaned every day and gave me fresh towels, even though I hung them on the rack as an indicator that they didn't need to replace them every day. The manager seemed miffed that I didn't check in until after 11 pm (my flight got in late) and called me several times to find out when I was coming. It seems like he's the only worker though and he probably just wanted to go to bed.

We stayed one night. The room was relatively small, and the bathroom was a bit worn out, but everything was clean and tidy. We arrived early, but were welcomed nonetheless and given a room right away.
