Fantastic place to lounge around for a week!
I stayed here as a solo traveler and couldn’t have been more pleased. From the central location to the breathtaking views of the ocean, I had an amazing stay and was close to everything I could have needed, such as convenience stores and a Starbucks! Every interaction I had with staff was extremely pleasant. I didn’t attend any of the restaurants for dinner but I know there were plenty of options to choose from, and the buffet style breakfast and lunch right on the beach had plenty of options to suit all tastes. Thank you so much, Riu!!

This hotel has very poor management. Expedia advertised a hot tub and this resort only has a jacuzzi with no hot water . The toilet stayed stopped up from the time we got there until the time we left . When taking a shower, water soaked the floor. I walked and caught the young lady from housekeeping cleaning the dirty drinking glasses with a face towel and she hung the face towel back up as a clean towel . Also, I lost my diamond earring in the bed. When I ask the housekeeper as she was leaving did she find a diamond earring ,she got really nervous. She went in the bathroom and started moving things around on the counter and magically the earring came out of her pocket. I reported these issues to Ima who stated she was the general manager and the only thing she offered was using the jacuzzi at another RIU property and that water wasn’t hit either plus we had to walk to the property. Also, the keys deactivated everyday and finally the last day at the resort, a guest service attendant stated he knew what the problem was and went up to fix the door. This is after 4 days of being there. Lastly , when the housekeeper cleaned the room they didnot change the sheets. They made the bed up with the dirty sheets. I slipped and fell in the hallway on some water and ended up with a hematoma on my big toe. Reported the fall to IMA and nothing was done. They The food was ok on the buffet and horrible in the steak house as well as the Japanese restaurant. Stay away from RIU Cancún.
