Hotel Island, Reykjavik
It was fine but it certainly wasn’t the cleanest place we stayed.

OK, but they could easily do better
Overall I would describe this hotel as OK. Much more economical than many other options in Reykjavik. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Limited selection at breakfast but it got the job done just fine. Limited lunch/dinner menu, but also got the job done if you didn't feel like finding something else. About 1km away from the main downtown area. It seemed to me that this hotel uses a room freshener when they service the room, which I found irritating. TV had a total of 8 channels, 2 of which had no signal, Sky News, BBC, HGTV, and 3 local channels. Bed was very firm which I didn't enjoy. The main 'issue' I have is that several things in the room seemed VERY worn. The chairs in the room were visibly dirty / stained (see photo). At first, I though the comforter was dirty, but then realized it was was just small tears in the cover and the blue inner liner was showing through. Pillows seemed 'empty' then realized it was because the pillows had holes in them (see photo) and the stuffing would literately fall out in bed.
