It may look hipster but its Ghetto.
Had a mix up with my booking (computer glitch with partly my fault partly not) and ended up with a 4 night booking instead of 3, I showed up on day two (what I thought was day one) they had already deleted my entire stay, and were very short and cold about making sure I paid for 4 nights and made me sign some form without explaining anything to me. then just tossed me my key and explained how an elevator works like I had never seen one before. Did not mention anything about the hotel, how breakfast works, where it was, or how the wifi works, where to park or anything. This was not a big deal but a little "sorry for the mistake" would be nice. My bed was nice and soft but the sheets were dirty, had stains, and holes in them, (see pics, sorry best I could do in that lighting) the floor and walls were dirty as well and the room was so small I basically had to sit on the bed to use my laptop at the desk. Bathroom was nice though. When I went to check out the spa (that was supposed to be included according to my confirmation email) I was told my room did not include the spa visits so I could not use the hot tub or sauna, Breakfast was also supposed to be included and when I checked in the lady asked my room number looked at a list and said I was all good to go, but at checkout they charged me $32 for 2 breakfasts that was basically cold eggs and warm yogurt. other pics are the view from my room 6th floor, not too bad

Needs to be updated
The hotel staff was great but the rooms were very old and out dated. Only 6 tv channels and that’s being nice. If you are looking for new this is not the place

Hotel Island, Reykjavik
The hotel’s most modern areas were the lobby, restaurant, spa, and facade. The room itself was dated and incongruent with the listing. The free wi-if was awful. You couldn’t go more than a few minutes without being kicked off. The bedding was not terribly comfortable and the free parking was precarious to pull in and out of. The location was convenient and staff was polite, but after the spa closes at 6PM you need front desk staff to access the pool and hot tub areas which was a little inconvenient. The price per night was high for what the rooms offered
