Soooooo Loud! The room did not have a fan or AC so the only alternative was to open the windows, the noise from the street was horrible and so were the other guest at the hotel. The cable in the room was from the dark ages and the flippin internet was snail slow. On the flip side it seemed like some improvements were happening, and the staff was super friendly..

Cool place, needed blankets!!
We stayed at this facility in early April, the heat was not set up in the room, so it was cold even though we requested and received blankets. The pool was not open, which was okay - the hot tubs were both functioning. Since, it was early Spring, the grounds were not colorful like they usually are when we traveled in August.

Wish it was better
My husband & I were in Santa Fe to take care of business, so the free continental breakfast that was advertised would have been appreciated over the $5 voucher they gave us to one of the busiest breakfast spots in Santa Fe. We would have had to wait at least 20 min. just to get a table. We didn't have that kind of time. The wifi barely worked. We had to call & request a reboot once or twice. Forget about trying to stream anything over it. Our room was decent, but not 'premium'. It was totally lacking any side tables next to the bed & our sitting area was also lacking a coffee table, though it had a great couch & chair. It's hard to sit with a cup of coffee & read the news without a table though. The shower head had two streams of water, one aggressively hard & the other a little stream, but I will say I did enjoy their complimentary shower gel. Lastly, I thought I could smell the faint scent of animal urine. Kind of disturbing & I wore my slippers constantly after that. My impression is that some of the rooms are actually great, and some are crap. Unfortunately, we didn't get a great room & I wouldn't take the chance again when I know of other great hotels in Santa Fe.

Exceptional10.0
For the past 10 years has been my go to hotel in Santa Fe. Finally brought me family with. Aside from the pool being closed my kids loved it. Really like the old funky Route 66 southwest theme. The jacuzzi was so perfect, only down side was the sauna shuts off at a certain temp and it takes a long time to reset. My favorite breakfast place is next door, The Pantry, and we received $5.00 vouchers from the El Rey to eat there. Even with renovations going on, the place was clean and relaxed.

GREAT SOUTHWESTERN STYLE MOTEL
Well kept southwestern style hotel, nice grounds, great outdoor hot tub, . Friendly staff, convenient location to the Santa Fe Plaza w/o being downtown.
