Nice place, lousy service
We stayed at the Camino Real Sumiya on a long weekend in order to go to a wedding at a nearby facility. The hotel is layed out on luxurious grounds set in the style of a Japanese garden. This makes for a beautiful setting, but lots of walking in order to get to the rooms, and the paths are not clearly marked. The rooms have been recently remodelled, although the remodel was not necessarily high-end, for example the toilet seats. On Sunday we had brunch, an although a tad expensive, it is overall a good buy. My main problem with the hotel was when, after brunch, we tried to get back in our room in order to check-out. Our key did not work, neither did the key that housekeeping had. We had to report it over five times (including a long walk to reception that did not solve the problem) and wait over 40 minutes in order to get back in our room. Once this type of trouble is reported you shouldn't have to wait over 5 minutes, specially at this level of hotel.

Unfriendly administration to help you relax
The administration is completely arrogant and absolutely non accommodating. They make a fuzz about everything and they drag their feet to help with anything. If they make a mistake in their charges they make it look as if it was the client's fault. People in the front desk seem to be always in a bad mood. Perhaps the hotel needs to hire friendlier personnel or pay better their employees... who knows. After several years of choosing this hotel during my vacations in Cuernavaca I have finally decided that, next time, I will choose something else. Be prepared to pay for a terrible wifi connection.

Excellent service and beautiful gardens. Rooms need renovations and it is in a very secluded area of Cuernavaca.
