The hotel is in a great location, moments from the train station and close to the main tourist attractions and the town centre. In fact, the Wednesday market is right outside the front doors. My room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with excellent air conditioning on a hot July day. The bathroom towels were luxuriously big and fluffy, and the sage bath gel was very nice. I only stayed one night so did not really use many of the available facilities and I did not dine in the restaurant. However, I did have breakfast and it was excellent. First, the location is beautiful, as I sat outside near the pool and it was very peaceful. Second, the quality and quantity were wonderful. A very kind hotel employee gave a thorough explanation of everything on offer and that I could sit inside or outside. There was a large variety of food available: cereals, yogurt, smoke salmon, cold meats, cheeses, fruit salad (with fresh fruit coulis), other fresh fruit, pastries, several types of bread, boiled eggs, hot food (scrambled eggs, crepes, bacon), juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate -- it went on and on and was also beautifully arranged. The staff clearly make an effort to present everything at its best. The hotel would be an excellent base to explore the area around Frejus or just as a place to relax for a few days.

Convenient location, nice pool.
I arrived in Frejus by train from Nice. The Hotel is just a minutes walk from the station. The location is excellent for wandering around Frejus. Checkin was welcoming and helpful. Well done. The hotel is decorated a pleasing Provençal style and has an attractive pool surround by palm trees and patio tables. If the weather co operates you'll have a pleasant few hours here after a day out. Breakfast was a bit pricey at €17 for a buffet which is what you'd pay in a big city. But the breakfast buffet has a good set of choices. They have a simpler express breakfast for €7. Commendable flexibility. I came away feeling the price was justified for the quality and ambience of the nicer buffet choice. They have a restaurant for evening meal but the night I had available in July 16 was fully booked so I can't pass comment. A three star hotel with large kitchens, a chef and a rotating menu is certainly an unusual feature worth trying. My room had the essentials and effective air conditioning for the summer. The service that disappointed was the poor internet. My performance benchmark is "could I do a FaceTime call to the family here". Sadly not. I measured only 400 Kbps download and a pitiful 200 Kbs upload. If I need a hotel and pool in Frejus again I would choose this hotel but compared to the pool-less and more remote chain hotel at half the price you will be paying for some justifiable conveniences. Nevertheless I enjoyed my 2 night stay at Hotel L'Arena.
