Katathani Phuket Beach Resort, Karon

Great place to stay by the ocean and enjoy the amenities. There isn't a lot to do close by, but there are plenty of leisure activities available on site. The resort is very large and separated into two parts. One is right on the beach and the other is set back and closer to the splash pad and kids club. Being in the right area for your needs is probably important, as it takes about 15 minutes to walk from one end of the property to the other. There are a lot of restaurants available within the resort and there are convenience stores close by both on and off the property, which makes it easy to stay stocked up on bottled water and sunscreen while you're out in the heat with a family. I'll definitely stay here again, hopefully for longer next time!

I will never stay at this hotel again unless out of force. Our room was terrible. Hard bed, weak pillows, the room is old with a shower that leaves a puddle that won’t drain attracting further bugs on top of the many bugs that were already in the room (you will notice the maids leave the door open while cleaning so bugs non-stop). The breakfast buffet is mediocre and crowded. Good luck asking for things to be refilled without an irritated look for the staff. Check in was awful and so was any interaction with most of the staff. If I had known what I know about this hotel. I would have stayed at the many surrounding beautiful hotels that share this beach. Mind you this hotel poorly cleans up the beach when the current brings in all the trash over night. Very sad that they don’t pay someone to assist in cleaning in this. Oh and most hotels will give you free car service or shuttle to and from the airport. Not here. $1300 bhat each way. No late check out. One pool that doesn’t have kids and even then the adult pool allows for older kids. Just not very peaceful anywhere. It’s hard to stay here after staying at so many other beautiful and friendly hotels in Thailand.

This was worth every penny! The hotel itself is really lovely and the private beach makes all the difference when you want to hang out without the crowds. It's a bit far on foot from a lot of things, but there's a sweet little restaurant across the street that has good food if you don't feel like eating at the hotel. The breakfast buffet is solid and the food is pretty tasty. Stayed for a week and didn't want to leave. Would definitely stay again.

Totally overpriced, the service is not that good. It's like three hotels, we stayed at the part across the road from the beach and it wasn't nice and definitely not value for money.

Decent resort, but large and busy. Right on the edge of a public beach. Despite security at each entrance, we noticed people walking in from the beach and using the pool, showers etc. Not a huge deal but disappointing. Facilities ok...amenities in room basic, (no hair conditioner provided), towels etc a bit old and tired (compared to other 5 star resorts I’ve been lucky enough to experience in Asia). Overall a decent family holiday. Would I rush to return? Probably not however we did enjoy it for the few days we were there.
