About Hotel Rose Garden Shinjuku, Tokyo

Tokyo hotel with 3 restaurants, near Shinjuku Central Park

Near Shinjuku Station

Hotel Rose Garden Shinjuku is a family-owned hotel about a 2-minute walk from Nishi-Shinjuku Metro Station, which connects to bustling Shinjuku Train Station in 3 minutes. You'll be a 10-minute walk from Shinjuku Central Park, a green space amid some of Tokyo's tallest buildings.

Cherry blossoms, shopping

Grand Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden combines Japanese traditional, French formal, and English landscape gardens - in spring, you can admire the blossoms on its 1,500 cherry trees. Popular store Isetan Shinjuku has artist-designed window displays and sells high-end goods.

Lunch on the terrace

Ciao serves Italian and French food, while you can enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine at Kurikichi, housed in a century-old building. Coffret D'or offers lunch in a bright dining room or out on the garden terrace, and the friendly staff is available to help around the clock.

Free wired Internet

In each of the 100 air-conditioned guestrooms, there's an LCD TV with international channels and pay-per-view options, plus free wired Internet access for checking email. Double-glazed windows help you get a quiet night's sleep, and minibars come in handy for late-night snacks.

We'd stay here again!
The hotel is in a convenient location and is only a block from the nearest metro station. The lobby smells like a rose garden (really!), and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit small, but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was great - a nice deep bathtub and very hot water! The room was a bit hot (we stayed in January) - the hotel staff provided instructions for use of the a/c, but they weren't very descriptive and the thermostat was totally in Japanese. We asked staff for assistance, but they either didn't understand or didn't pass the message along, so we ended up just opening the window. Also, the tv instructions explained how to get to the channel in English, but apparently that channel wasn't working or wasn't actually part of their subscription, so we didn't watch any tv. Cable was an additional charge. The daily breakfast is ok - nothing amazing but it was convenient.

Great location. While the hotel is just a minute from the Nishi Shinjuku Station, it is also just a 10-minute walk from Shinjuku station. Convenience stores and food are all within close proximity of the hotel. Service staff were friendly and tried their best to help. We had some issues with the toilet (it got choked up twice) but the staff responded quickly and efficiently to resolve the issue. Overall a pleasant enough experience.
