Worst. Experience. EVER.
Well..... lets start with the NASTY.. .lets keep this PG and call it "white" stain on the rug, a rug that was already disgusting and stained. The windows and sills looked like the hadn't been cleaned in years. I didn't dare touch the shower, or sit on the toilet for that matter. The only reason we stayed is because the bed "appeared" clean and we were attending a concert, which of course means no other hotels were available. The final straw was when I went to turn the lamp on and the light bulb exploded. We left at midnight, they never refunded any of my money, after saying they would. Terrible. Awful. Experience... The only nice things I do have to say are 1. Location, and 2. The woman at the front desk was very pleasant. If you don't want to catch a disease, stay away from here.

Very Good8.0
Very helpful staff
This older hotel was in the perfect location for us to attend the American Folk Festival. The desk staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The only down side, for us, was that our room had a double bed (we are accustomed to a queen) and the room was adjacent to a delivery area for local restaurants. Who knew that the firewood for the wood-fired smokers would be delivered at the crack of dawn? Both of these things are first-world issues, and didn't seriously interfere with our stay, and if we attend the folk festival again in the future, we would certainly stay at the Charles again.

The sink didn't work, the room was loud and poorly furnished. The keys given for the door did not work, which meant my fiancé had to wait outside the hotel in the early morning for 2 hours in her car so she could check out after dropping me at the airport. There was no complimentary breakfast provided.
