love staying at Jupiter!!
This was our 2nd time staying at the Jupiter. Both trips were wondeful!! the staff was beyond nice and helpful.... we really like the boutique style of the hotel, no corporate mentality and the Doug fir open late just outside your room. The econo room is very small... but prices for that, ill remember to always ask for the metro room here forward. the bed, pillows and linens were very comfy and we slept great!!! we will be back!

clean, but small and no ammenities
For the amount of money I paid to stay there, I felt like it wasn't worth the amount. It was nice and clean, but the room was tiny, had no fridge, no DVD, no coffee maker, nothing for a traveler. The room offered a free condom and the noise from the lounge was an inconvenience. I just don't think I got my money's worth.

Spendy Motel/Hotel but ok for location
it was next door to a concert venue we were attending. so the cost of the hotel was offset by the convenience.

Awesome mid-century vibe. LOVED it.
I loved this hotel. I wanted to stay a second night but they were sold out so I had to leave. The hotel has this awesome mid-century vibe. It's really hip and all the details are well thought out. I think that people who are giving it a lower rating may be from an older crowd. The hotel feels very young and exciting but I can see how older travelers may be looking for something more traditional. For example, there was a cool, branded condom in the room--perhaps a turnoff to some. The restaurant / lounge / event space, Doug Fir was amazing. It was so cool inside. Again, amazing level of detail. And even though it was a Monday night when I stayed there, there was still a pretty good crowd. I ate a very late dinner at the bar as I got in very late from work. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who has a love for nostalgia and all things cool. This will definitely be my go-to hotel when I'm in Portland.

Jupiter Review
This hotel is for young hip single people looking to meet others like them. It's a party hotel (e.g., condom on bedside table of room for guests). I am a happily married business traveler and could not gather this from the website. That said, they moved me to a quiet wing where I was able to drown out noise with a noisy air conditioner. Jupiter's decor is upgraded but it is still an old motel underneath (thin walls). Very clean rooms and the Doug Fir was a great restaurant. Very nice and friendly staff. Lucky to be there on a quiet Monday and Tuesday.
