Average hotel; pay for the executive room. Customer service is non existent at this hotel. The best thing about hotel is the proximity to everything. Eat at local establishments, you can walk to get food.

Good Location but not much else
The location to the main tourist areas of Shanghai and the metro is good. Room with a view of the skyscrapers to the east cost more but are decent. Otherwise, amenities are pretty lacking. Room was cramped. Bed was very hard. Room card reader only worked half the time, not very easy to use.

It's just ok, but won't stay here again
Thus hotel is located in a very busy local business area which is interesting to walk around. One side overlooks a small waterway which is a plus. Concierge service is generally good and responsive. Receptionists were generally good with the exception of one that I dealt with. Though there was no negative interactions her attitude toward the hotel concierge staff was definitely rude and unprofessional. Overall the hotel is older and its interior could be dark and depressive for some. Water pressure and temperature were both satisfactory. There are plenty of better choices in this area. I'll likely won't stay here again.

Disappointment on the Bund
The best thing about the hotel was the location. We were two blocks from the subway and wenf every where on the metro. The hotel itself is old. The rooms are not cleaned daily. The maid asked me if I wanted her to clean the dust filled glass shelf over the minibar. That is unacceptable. The beda were extremely uncomfortable. I had to ask for additional padding on the mattress. The concierge was not friendly at all to foreigners. I believe this hotel is not meant for western visitors who expect higher standards of service and cleanliness. They only give one access card to the room. The electricity is shut off once you leave. The rooms are hot and uncomfortable when you return. We went in August and it was extremely hot. Western visitors should go to Western chain hotels to ensure a more pleasant stay.
