Great hooker hotel
The TV fell off the stand from the wall merely from turning the power on. If they Try and charge it on my credit card for that incidental I will have words with the very non-talkative staff. I called the next morning to try and extend my stay and then would never answer the phone so I guess they didn't need my money to perhaps repair the broken elevator and various other repairs that have a phone since 1894

Overpriced, lacked parking
Arrived after long drive. Heavy rains. No place to park in front so had to drive around for 20 minutes. Finally a spot opened up. Get inside- they then tell me no parking available and need to park on street (yeah, right, in DC) or garage a block over, which I eventually did (40$ and out by 9 am.....)- 600 metres away from hotel. Decor horrible- old carpets, doors, walls, elevator need updating- to say the least. Odour in building (like a urinal cake sprayed with perfume) was a bit sickening. Oh and the breakfast area is in the tiny lobby-really random and ghetto. Overall for the price, look elsewhere- get a "brand name" hotel for a comparable price and have the ability to park on-site and not eat in front of the doors.

We were shocked at the awful condition of this hotel -- It was very run down for being in such a great area and for the price we paid. The room was tiny and uncomfortable -- it was not even big enough to have two nightstands by the bed. The bed was terrible and creaked every time we moved. At least it seemed to be clean.

value for money base in central DC
The hotel is an excellent base from which to explore central Washington DC although infrastructure such as doors and wall insulation is somewhat tired. Staff really friendly and helpful. Ask for a room on top floors as street can be lively before 10pm
