The one feature that was noticeably lacking at this time of year was air conditioning. Whereas the hotel would be quite cosy in cooler weather, in midsummer it can be quite stuffy as a result.

Great base lodge for ski holiday
Ski vacation stay. Ski bus picks up in the morning in front of hotel just walked out in ski boots and jumped on the local areas. Since hotel is 3 blocks from train station also very convenient for day trips to St Anton 1:15 minutes by train. Breakfast was incredible with excellent variety. I enjoyed the restaurant 3 out of 5 nights of my stay and food/service was excellent and good value. Rooms are simple and clean and sauna/steam was also small but clean and modern.

You can do better elsewhere.
The staff is lovely. But the hotel stinks of cigarette smoke. There is a bar as you enter where people smoke cigarettes and cigars. Great if you are a smoker but unpleasant if you are a nonsmoker. Often it would smell all the way to the 2nd European floor and in my room. They have two types of rooms renovated and non renovated. They are very basic rooms. It is listed as a 4 star hotel but it is far from that in many ways. There are no amenities in the room or pleasantries that one expects from a four star property. It is more like your basic two star property with a comfortable bed. You get a one bottle soap/shampoo combo attached to the wall. My sink was cracked and the framed artwork on the wall was falling apart. The bathroom had dust balls that took three days for them to be finally cleaned away. There was a potato chip under the bed when i checked in and it was still in the same place seven days later. And, it was in plane view because of how the beds are constructed not hidden by bedding. Not sure how housekeeping missed it. I complained of unreasonable noise guest made at 6am each morning to the front desk it was never addressed nor my complaint of people bringing and using cell phones into the sauna/relax area. The breakfast is basic but good quality food. The sauna is a nice feature but it was far from relaxing. The hotel is in a great location if you are using the train station or walking about this small jewel of a city.

friendly and cooperative staff all around, but this hotel needs a lot of refreshing if it is to be rated 4 stars. The carpets and bathrooms need a total overhaul. Breakfast and restaurant were fine.

Classic hotel near train station
This classic old hotel is one block from the Innsbruck railway station and a 10-15 minute walk from the tourist center, thus it is in a very convenient location. The room we had was large and quiet with an odd arrangement for the bed (on a platform in a corner) and the bath (hidden behind a sliding mirror). It was quiet, service was fine, and they offered a large, excellent buffet breakfast. A good restaurant on the premisis too with local Tyrolean specialties.
