A Hotel Gem on a Side Street
This is at least the third time I've chosen Hotel Rex for my stay in Stockholm. Yes, the rooms are tiny by US standards. A single room means just that - bed big enough for one. Breakfast, however, is wonderful. The location is hard to beat - quiet, yet only a block from Sveavägen and the Rådmansgätan subway station. The sister hotel Hellsten, just across the street, features good local jazz every week. For me, the Rex strikes just the right balance between location, comfort and value. Tigerdog sez: sleep here!

Good deal for the money.
The hotel is on a narrow little street about 1/2 from the harbor area. The walk is fine. Shops & resturants all around. Open market not far from hotel. I takes some getting use to not worrying about dark narrow streets, but it is safe. Good deal for the money. Had my own bath, so, that makes a lot of difference.

Your man in New Cairo
The hotel isn't a bad place and is around the corner from the metro stop. Perhaps I should've spent as much time investigating the room size as I did the price, for my room was located underneath the roof and was extremely small, as was the bathroom. I literally had to watch my head before entering or exiting the bed because of the sloping ceiling and supports. Breakfast was standard European. However for those who want a real breakfast (bacon, sausage, eggs etc.), there's a McDonald's two blocks away. It's worth the walk.

I hope this helps other US travelers!!
It was so hard to pick a hotel based on pictures for a country ive never even been to, but this place was great! It is on the smaller size, but it was perfectly fine! Prices were very fair, Beds were comfortable, very clean, nice looking place, short walk to everything. Housekeeping very thorough and I even accidentally left my wedding ring in the bathroom and it was untouched!! Staff was nice, room service was very fast, I was very happy with it and would recommend it.

Great base of operations
The Rex is a great value among Stockholm hotels. It's clean, comfortable and located only a very short walk from the Rådmansgatan T-bana station, making it easy to use as a base for sightseeing or shopping. In the evening, the immediate area has a variety of restaurants; you can find anything from sushi to Cuban, Indian to traditional Swedish cuisine within a five minute walk. Breakfast was typical hotel Swedish: rolls, breads, cheeses, cold cuts, veggies. Hot items were limited to scrambled eggs and bacon but the bacon was particularly delicious. They also had two varieties of pickled herring, in case you feel particularly Swedish in the morning. The only issue I had was on arrival; my room wasn't ready at 15:45 on a Saturday. They resolved the issue withing 30 minutes and everything else was great.
