This is a older building. There is lots of cool things about it. The one thing that was slightly annoying was that there is only street parking. There is a parkade but it is two blocks away and is $40 per day.

Property is 3 stars because the room was adequate. The bed was comfortable and there was a good size newer mini fridge. Towels were mostly newer and they actually gave you a wash cloth (rare for a budget hotel). The windows could be opened for fresh air. On the negative side, the bathroom was small with limited surface space for toiletries. No hooks to hang a towel in bathroom. The tub had been repainted poorly and the paint was coming off in large pieces. There was long black hair on the floor , the toilet, the towels and in the bed. As a bald man, this is repulsive. They need to do a better job at cleaning. The window screens are filthy with years of dirt and dust caked on them. The room above was noisy and all the sound of heavy waking and moving things on the floor was disturbing late night and early morning. The elevator was a big plus but was a bit awkward to use. There are lots of cafes and restaurants in the area and within walking distance to Union Square. The neighborhood is just as dirty as the rest of the city so not anything unexpected.

The entire place reeks of mould, including the blankets and bed sheets. I had to buy air fresheners for my room to cover the smell. Walls are paper thin, I could hear the ceiling creak and loud banging virbrations everytime my neighbour walks across the room in the middle of the night.
