Not a resort. Expect up sell pitch!
Banff is beautiful! Be aware, at check in they will try to up sell you to a more expensive unit. They it us in a small one bedroom condo with two queen beds crammed in the room. Maneuvering to get into bed was a bit of a challenge. Asked if we could be moved to a room with a Single King bed. Happy to do so for only $400 (CAD) per night! We elected to scrunch into our queen bed. No food at the “resort”. No bar/lounge at the “resort”. The good news, free firewood for the fireplace.

Decent
The hotel was decent. While the location was phenomenal (we enjoyed staying a bit outside of Banff proper), the views were great, and the service was adequate, the room itself left some to be desired. Our room was in desperate need of some remodeling, and the walls were so thin that we could hear all of our neighbors snoring and constantly flushing the toilet. The outdoor hot tub and free hot chocolate were really nice, but we had to constantly use a noise machine to be able to sleep.

Pleased
The place we rented was huge (including a basement with a table top hockey machine). It was bigger than we needed but we enjoyed the extra space. It was clean and well situated. Having the bus right into town is great. There's nothing fancy about Hidden Ridge and don't expect great views from your place, but it was a great starting off point for a great vacation.

Very Disappointed-
It is quite obvious that this property has not maintained the units on the ridge side, but rather has spent the time and money on the inner (larger) units. I was excited to stay here, as it looked beautiful. Sadly, the best part was the lobby and hot tub area. Our room was dark and VERY out dated. The sofa cover was a plastic of sorts, and quite uncomfortable to even just sit on. The bathroom ceiling had water marks, and did not even look clean over all. The fireplace hearth stone was chipped and broken in several areas. We were there 3 days, and understand desire not to clean sheets each day due to water conservation, but I had used a blanket and placed it on the bed before leaving for the day. The blanket was in a clump at the end of the bed. No attempt to even fold it. The cost of this location far exceeded the benefit in my opinion. We happened to stay one additional night in town, and the cost was 1/3 less but the facilities were 100% nicer, cleaner, etc. DO NOT recommend this location, unless assured to staying in one of the inner (larger) units.
